RC1 Update Available

After releasing RC1, internal testing discovered two issues that we feel warrant an update to our RC1:

  • One issue affects the digital signature verification on some file types (such as .msi, and .vbs.)  For the affected file types, signed files will appear to be unsigned, and the publisher will be listed as “unknown.”
  • A second issue prevents customers from installing Windows PowerShell on 64-bit machines running Windows Vista.

If you’ve already installed the release candidate, please uninstall it, reboot, and install the updated version.  The updated version is available on the Download Center, as before:

X86 Windows PowerShell latest build: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=64772&clcid=0x409

X64 Windows PowerShell latest build: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=64773&clcid=0x409

This is sometimes the case with pre-release software, but we apologize for the inconvenience.  We’ve put processes in place to ensure that these issues won’t happen again.
