Azure Government Secret extends partner opportunity with marketplace program for ISVs

Josh Terry

Microsoft Azure Government Secret helps government customers accelerate classified missions, and along with the announcement of accreditation at Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level 6 (IL6) and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503, we’re expanding the Azure Marketplace to provide customers in the DoD and IC community with easier access to a broad range of software solutions.

Preparing your solution for the Azure Government Secret Marketplace

The Azure Government Secret Marketplace enables customers to find, buy, and deploy ISV solutions from within the air-gapped environment. For ISVs currently serving Azure and Azure Government customers, this new opportunity enables you to bring your solutions to new markets and segments within the US government.

Bringing new solutions to the classified space includes a number of prerequisites, such as: (1) validating your solutions within the Azure Government Secret environment, (2) submitting a US Intelligence Foreign Ownership Control and Influence (FOCI) packet, and (3) accepting the terms and conditions applicable to Azure Marketplace publishers for Azure Government Secret.

To help you expedite the process, we’ve put a program in place to help you with each of these steps, from validation to completing the paperwork. Reach out to us today at agazmap@microsoft.com for more information.

Using the Azure Marketplace

While Azure Government Secret Marketplace is accredited at the DoD Impact Level 6 (IL6), other federal agencies can also use the Azure Marketplace and the Azure Government Marketplace to:

  • Find new services: Customers will be able to discover, try, or buy cloud software solutions built on or for Azure. Partners will be able to list and provide Azure building blocks, such as virtual machines, base operating systems, and security, identity and networking offerings.
  • Bring your own license (BYOL): Use marketplace to enhance discoverability and automate provisioning of your solution and complete the financial transaction separately. BYOL offer types are ideal for on-premises to cloud migrations.
  • Expand to new markets: Use the marketplace as a channel to access new markets, segments, and joint marketing opportunities.

If you’re a vendor interested in listing in the Azure Marketplace or are a customer that cannot find a specific product, we would love to hear from you. Please contact agazmap@microsoft.com and let us know.
