Today we have several releases to talk about: there’s the release of Visual Studio 2017 version 15.3, the release of .NET Core 2.0, and a release of Visual Studio for Mac version 7.1. If you’d like to jump right in, download Visual Studio 2017 version 15.3, download .NET Core 2.0, and download Visual Studio for Mac. You can also access the latest Visual Studio 2017 product releases through an Azure virtual machine where we offer the recommended installation of the most popular workloads and components.

We’ve been working hard to polish up some features, address some of the issues you’ve reported, and make meaningful improvements in the product's fundamentals such as reliability, performance, and accessibility. A few of the notable highlights include - Continuous Delivery Tools can now automatically build and deploy NET or ASP.NET Core projects to Azure Web App Services, increased visibility on extensions’ impact on Visual Studio reliability, Lightweight solution load (LSL) in large C++ solutions.

A fresh update to Visual Studio 2017 and the next preview

Visual Studio 2017 Update

We’ve released an update to Visual Studio 2017 and you can download it and start using it today. In this update, which will show up in Help/About as 15.1 (26403.0), we’ve added support for the Windows 10 Creators Update SDK, added support in Xamarin Workbooks for C# 7, and updated the Redgate Data Tools. There is also a set of performance improvements you can read about in Bertan’s post, Visual Studio 2017 Performance Improvements.

Twenty-five years ago, I started my first day at Microsoft as a developer on the Access team, and then as a developer on a newly created product – Visual InterDev. I remember how the emphasis was on the Visual part of our various product offerings, we have come a long way to the Visual Studio we have now. Today, I’m proud and humbled that Visual Studio is turning twenty – we’re celebrating two decades of Visual Studio! As we hit this great milestone, I’m also excited to announce that Visual Studio 2017 will be released on March 7.
