Xamarin Developer Blog is Getting an Update!

Jayme Singleton

In the coming weeks, the Xamarin Developer Blog will be migrating to a new platform with a modern, clean design and powerful features that will make it easy for you to discover and share great content. Starting now you will see the Microsoft developer blogs – Visual Studio, IoTDev, and Premier Developer – moved to a centralized location. Additional developer blogs, including this one, will also begin transitioning over the coming weeks. Below you will find a sneak peek of the new design and a few more details about the migration. Let us know what you think!

We’d Love Your Feedback

Our most inspirational ideas have come from this community and we want to make sure our developer sources are exactly what you need. For immediate questions, you can find more information through this FAQ. Please feel free to leave us comments or suggestions through our Feedback button:

Share your thoughts about the updated designs by taking our Microsoft Developer Survey. We would also love your suggestions for topics our authors could write about. What kinds of information, tutorials, or features would you like to see covered in future posts?

Xamarin Developer Blog FAQ

The Frequently Asked Questions below are specific to this Xamarin blog and differ slightly from the overall Microsoft FAQ.

Will My Saved/Bookmarked URLs Redirect?

Yes. You will not need to change your blog.xamarin.com bookmark. The home page URL will auto-redirect to the new site. For now, you will continue to have access to all historical Xamarin articles through direct URLs.

Will My RSS Feed Still Send the Latest Posts?

Not at first. Your RSS feed will not immediately work through your current set-up when we first launch the new platform. We are working to get this rerouted as soon as possible. For immediate results, you may have to link the Mobile Dev Blog to a new RSS Feed reader. If you encounter any issues with the RSS feed set up, please report it through our feedback button.

Which Blogs Are Moving?

This migration involves the majority of our Microsoft developer blogs. Expect to see changes throughout our Visual Studio, IoTDev, and Premier Developer blogs this week. The rest will be migrated in waves over the next few weeks, starting with our most popular blogs – like us!
