Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the questions that we’ve heard. If you have a different question or we didn’t completely answer one, please share your thoughts through our feedback button.
Currently, URLs directly pasted as text into the comment do not become hyperlinks – we’re working on a fix. It is possible to copy-paste a hyperlink from a document into your comment, which should then appear as a clickable hyperlink.
I have saved/bookmarked the URL to this blog. Will I need to change this?
We have you covered. All your existing URLs will auto-redirect. However, if a link unintentionally breaks, please report it through our feedback.
What about my RSS feed? Will my feed reader still get all the latest posts?
Your RSS feed will continue to work through your previous set-up. If your RSS feed is broken, please report it with details about which feed reader you use.
How do I see posts from all developer tools blogs?
You may have seen or used the previous blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/developer-tools/ feed to view posts from multiple blogs across our developer tools and services. We’re still building out our blog platform to support the ability for us to consolidate multiple blog feeds into one but stay tuned! If you have a particular set of blogs in mind for us to prioritize, please share your feedback and help us pick which blogs to enable first.
What happened to all the useful links in the right pane?
These links are now at the very bottom of each page. If you’d like to see particular links, let us know by submitting a suggestion.
How do I follow the team/author?
Please visit the author pages to find their social accounts to follow. For a specific blog or related social accounts, please see the “Follow Us” links at the very bottom of each blog.
How do I find other developer blogs?
The navigation right on top will take you to our various developer blogs. Some links will take you to a blog on the new site. Others will show an error. This is because those blogs are still in the process of moving to our new platform. For immediate access to content on those blogs, please continue to visit the MSDN blog.
Where can I submit feedback about the old or new blog?
We would love to hear from you! Please share your feedback by taking this short survey.
How can I manage my data?
To submit a comment you will now need to sign in. After signing in, you will be able to edit or delete your comments from each post. Or you can go to the dashboard to view all your comments on that blog, in one location, from where you can easily edit or delete your comments. You can also edit or delete your profile, which will not impact whatever authentication you used. You can learn more about how to manage your data by viewing our Visual Studio Family Data Subject Requests.
Which blog sites are moving?
The DevOps, IoTDev, Premier Developer, Visual Studio, and QSharp blogs start us out as we roll out updates to a number of our developer blogs, which will be completed in the coming weeks. Here is a list of all the blogs that will move to this new space in no particular order:
