Team Services and TFS Roadmap update – Apr 2016

Brian Harry

Today, we refreshed the roadmap for Visual Studio Team Services and Team Foundation Server.  We’ve retired the items that were scheduled for Q1/Update 2, updated the items scheduled for Q2 and added the plan for Q3. We completed a significant majority of the things we planned to.  A few things did not complete in Q1 and have been rescheduled for Q2.  The only really big thing was: Git SSH support – We almost got it done but had some performance issues to work out we expect to have it available in Team Services in the next few weeks and in TFS 2015 Update 3. The rest of the long list that we had planned for Q1 and Update 2 generally was completed on time. We generally update the roadmap every quarter, within a few weeks after the end of the calendar quarter and the shipping of the associated on-prem Update.  I’ve been gradually evolving the content in the roadmap.  With this update, I’ve included a bit more detail (more smaller items) than I have in the past.  I’m certainly interested in feedback.  Have I passed the point of it being overwhelming?  Can you understand what the items mean?  Etc.  The more detail I give, the more likely that some things don’t get fully delivered but I’m going to experiment with that trade-off and see how it goes. It’s great to have another quarter of goodness behind us.  Please share any feedback you have. Brian
