Japanese Team Explorer Everywhere SP1 Beta Available

Brian Harry

In my post announcing the availability of Team Explorer Everywhere 2010 SP1 Beta, I talked about the localization improvements we’ve made in this release.  For the first time, you can experience it yourself.  We have just released the Japanese language pack for the Beta.  It was available on MSDN subscriber downloads just before the end of the year and it is available to everyone starting this morning.  The public download site is:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=cf900205-9617-4700-9e2f-fd5039c62550 The installation instructions are still English for the moment though we’re working with our Japanese team to get some localized instructions put together. By the time TEE SP1 ships, we will also support German and French.  We’ll look at adding additional languages as the demand for them appears.  But the other cool thing is that, because we are using a language pack model, the community can create their own localizations.  This model worked really well for Team Web Access and resulted in a CodePlex Project with a bunch of new translations.  Admittedly, the task for TEE is a bit more daunting because there are many more strings but if it’s something you are interested in exploring, let me know. If you use Team Explorer Everywhere and speak Japanese, please give it a try and let us know what you think.  You can post questions and comments in this forum: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tee/threads or, of course, you can report bugs on http://connect.microsoft.com Thanks and enjoy! Brian
