Are you interested in learning about DevOps and the newest advances in technology? Do you want to challenge your development perspectives and current practices? Read this post from Premier Developer Consultant Brian Blackman to find an upcoming conference for you and your team to attend.
All of us in software engineering are always looking for ways to keep our skillsets and knowledge fresh. I have found courses from the Microsoft Academy and edX to be valuable, but there are many other sources from which to learn. In addition to online courses, workshops, books, and videos, conferences prove to be a great way to learn and stay up to date. To me, conferences should be a mandatory part of any job. In fact, before Microsoft, I asked employers to include in my contract that they would send me to x number of conferences.
Some of my best learnings are from conferences. For example, I attended a TechEd many years ago where Don Box spoke (back when he had very long hair and was not yet working at Microsoft) about RPCs, remote procedure calls in native code and he gave me the mantra of “Network Traffic is Evil.” I have stuck to that in my career and many architects and developers should likewise adhere to this. So, a lifelong lesson from a conference.
To aid you in your search for a conference to attend, I’ve compiled a list of upcoming conferences that you may find of value. They cover UX, DevOps, open source, and more.
