The New Home of DSC Documentation

Joey Aiello
Program Manager

I’m pleased to announce that our official PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC) documentation now has a new home on MSDN. We heard your feedback loud and clear, and began working on a documentation platform that reflects our customer-focused approach to addressing that feedback with improvements to the content and structure of the DSC documentation. These changes were enabled and continue to be driven by the fact that this documentation is now available in Markdown format on GitHub via the PowerShell-Docs repository. Furthermore, we have leveraged a continuous integration and deployment system to allow us to deploy changes into MSDN on a DevOps cadence. This has significantly improved our ability to rapidly iterate on content and get it into your hands with as little friction as possible. We understand that we have quite a bit of progress to make, and we will continue to take advantage of this new tool to publish a higher quantity and quality of DSC documentation.

Much like with our open-source DSC resources, we will also be accepting contributions via pull request to this documentation. For more information on how to help out, check out our contributions guide. Also, please feel free to submit your feedback via GitHub Issues so that we can improve and iterate upon the documentation process and toolchain. We look forward to working with all of you in the future!

Happy doc-ing!
