Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4.0 CTP Available

Yesterday we released a CTP for Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0.  This CTP also includes the Visual Studio Team System “Rosario” features and signals the end of separate “Rosario” CTPs.  From here on, Rosario will only be available in the context of VS/VSTS 2010 pre-releases. It’s been quite some time since we put out a CTP and so much has changed.  I’m not going to try to detail it all in this post because I’d be writing for hours.  The main advice I have for you is to try out the walk-throughs that are included with the CTP.  They will give you a terrific overview of the 2010 feature set. You can read more about the CTP release and download a copy here: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/content/content.aspx?ContentID=9790 I’ve seen quite a few reports of people encountering various trial activation issues.  Brian Keller has written a post that explains what you might see and how to deal with them. You’ll discover that the VPC is very large (there’s quite a bit of stuff in it – .NET, VS, SQL, TFS, Office, …).  Brian has also written a post on how to get a good experience downloading it. We are really thrilled to finally have this out and are eagerly awaiting your feedback.  Please let us know what you think.
