Quality and Reliability

This release contains the following quality and reliability improvements.

  • Addresses an issue in some 32 bit apps where, in certain scenarios, the JIT might omit a function call
  • Improved support for cleaning up private temporary certificate keys
WPF2
  • Improved spell checking so words like “etc.” and “e.g.” will no longer be identified as spelling errors when spell-checking is enabled in WPF TextBox or RichTextBox
  • Addresses an issue with a null-reference crash in automation code, arising from re-entrancy when reconnection to a remote desktop

1 Common Language Runtime (CLR)

2 Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)

I don’t like .Net preview updates being listed in Windows Updates for Windows 10 as normal “required” updates, and that will download automatically.

Aren’t “preview” updates to .Net supposed to be optional? When the preview is shown along with other updates like Windows Defender, when we click the “Download” button, will the preview update also be downloaded? If so, how can we use the download button, but NOT get the preview update??

I have a similar issue where the preview patches for .NET are forced download/installed on production servers that aren’t in the insider builds. Once installed I cannot uninstall them.
