We currently have Azure Devops 2020 update 1.2 (version 18.181.32404.7) released May 2020, with no additional patches. I’m trying to determine which patch to apply to my on premise server.
From my research, it appears that Patch 8 needs to be installed. Is Patch 8 a prerequisite for patch 11, or can I just install patch 11?
Hi Carol, you will have to follow the steps in Patch 8 to update the Azure Pipelines agent. Then install Patch 10 since it includes tasks update. Once you have updated tasks you can install Patch 11.
Do the tfx commands only apply to Azure Devops services or does it apply to the on premise version as well? I’m not familiar with those commands as it pertains to Azure Devops server. Please advise.
Hi Carol, the tfx commands for the patch only apply to the on-premise versions (Azure Devops Server). If you are using the hosted service (dev.azure.com or visualstudio.com), they do not apply. I hope that clarifies!
Will patches still be released for Azure DevOps Server 2022.0.1? Or do we need to move to 2022.1 to continue receiving updates?
Hi Daniel, we will patch Azure DevOps Server 2022.1 going forward. We encourage you to install the latest release to continue getting the most secure product experience.
Thanks so much for reply!
I’m currently on ADS 2022 RTW – 19.205.33122.1 – what is the appropriate path for me to take in order to get up to the current patching level?
Hi Scott, we recommend that you install the latest version, Azure DevOps Server 2022.1 and then install Patch 1.
Can “Azure DevOps Server 2022.1 Patch 1” also be applied to the Express version or is there a separate patch?
Hi Daniel, you can apply the patch to the Express version.
Hi,
could you please tell me, if I’ve installed clear devops Server 2020 1.2 without any configuration can I go directly to update 11? I know that I need to upload new versions of agents files to server but is that all I need to do?
All updates are cumulative, with previous fixes included?
Is there any ISO that contains all current updates so I won’y need to do updates?
Hi Adam, we don’t have an ISO that includes all patches. Our patches are cummulative but occasionally we may require you to follow manual steps to implement changes, for example tasks updates. Make sure that you follow the steps to update tasks released with Patch 10 and then install Patch 11.
Hello, since this blog entry I don’t receive any updates on RSS feed for subcategories “Azure DevOps Server” or “Patches”.
Only in global RSS Feed for Azure Devops Blog I get these news. But there are also news which aren’t relevant for me..
Can you please check and correct the RSS feed “Azure DevOps Server”?
Hi Stefan, I have reported this to the blog admin for investigation.
What directory do we need to be in to run this command ‘devops2020.1.2patch11.exe CheckInstall’ to verify the patch is installed?
I’m trying to install the patch 1 after installing ‘Azure DevOps Server 2022 Update 1.’ I used the D drive, and it’s not letting me apply the patch. The reason is ‘the directory not found.”. Do I need to specify the path?
