This month, we are releasing fixes that impact our self-hosted product, Azure DevOps Server.

The following will be fixed with this patch:

  • Failures in the “Account Parallelism Sync Analytics Job”.
  • Display of special characters in the IdentityPicker.
  • Test data was not being deleted, causing the database to grow. With this fix, we updated build retention to prevent creating new orphan test data

Azure DevOps Server 2020.1.2 Patch 4

If you have Azure DevOps Server 2020.1.1, you should first update to Azure DevOps Server 2020.1.2. Once on Update 1.2, install Azure DevOps Server 2020.1.2 Patch 4. Check out the release notes for more details.

Verifying Installation

  • Run devops2020.1.2patch4.exe CheckInstall, devops2020.1.2patch4.exe is the file that is downloaded from the link above. The output of the command will either say that the patch has been installed, or that it is not installed.

Was wondering if Azure DevOps Server 2020.1.2 Patch 4 would include all the prior patches. Why I ask is we created a couple new App tier servers and installed 2020.1.2 and then did patch 4 but our security team says it is missing some patches.

With the Azure Devops 2019 Server 2019.1.2 Patch 2 should the database service level be upgraded also? Ours is showing the previous version(AzureDevops2019Update1.1)

Hi Lee, we don’t upgrade databases with patch releases.

    Hi

I wonder if the lack of a patch for ADO Server 2022 is because the fix is already part of that release or because there were not enough time to fix it in the short time since it was released.

Hi Tore, we discovered these issues after we had cut the release and will include these fixes in the upcoming patch.

Thank you for reporting this. There was a typo on the download link, and it has been fixed.
