Azure Cosmos DB powers some of the world’s most popular intelligent apps like ChatGPT. In a recent hackathon, Over 9,500 developers engaged with Azure Cosmos DB and Azure AI services, making it one of the most popular on Devpost, ranking in the top 0.2% of all Devpost hackathons.
Participants explored AI fundamentals and built their own AI applications using Azure. We’re excited to showcase the top three winners, who leveraged Azure Cosmos DB and Azure AI to address diverse use cases, including acing job interviews, streamlining video editing, and offering insightful dietary recommendations. We also want to highlight the honorable mention projects from this impressive competition.

AI4KBAgent™: A ServiceNow KB CoPilot Powered by GenAI
AI4KBAgent™ CoPilot is an AI-driven tool designed to enhance knowledge base (KB) articles by refining content based on user inputs. Content developers start by submitting a title and additional information, and the app uses a multi-step agentic approach to generate the document. It plans the article, creates a title, summary, category, and sections, and iteratively generates and critiques content for each section through configurable feedback loops. Once completed, the draft is saved in Azure Cosmos DB, where users can edit, approve, or publish it. Upon publishing, it triggers a ServiceNow API call to create a KB article and notifies teams via Microsoft Teams and email. Learn more

This app was inspired by the complexity of 3D model viewers and the effectiveness of AI agents in Microsoft tools. Drawing from his experience with embedded code in 3D models, Meta-Store-AI aimed to create an AI agent that simplifies interactions by using natural language for model exploration and providing tailored user experiences. Meta-Store-AI envisioned the AI agent functioning like a customer service rep, interacting directly with the 3D viewer and responding to user actions. Learn more
