Day of Data and SQL Saturday events are free!

The community-led Day of Data and SQL Saturday events are free. Registration is required, and seating for in-person workshops may be limited.

Get hands-on with SQL and AI

The Friday workshops are led by the SQL product group! They provide a full day of practical learning before the community conferences begin. This AI workshop is designed for SQL developers, database administrators, application developers, architects and other data professionals who want to build AI-powered applications without abandoning the SQL tools and security model they already trust.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Store and query vectors and embeddings alongside relational data.
  • Use semantic and intent-aware retrieval instead of relying exclusively on keyword search.
  • Implement retrieval-augmented generation with SQL as the trusted data source.
  • Ground AI responses in authoritative enterprise data.
  • Invoke AI models through controlled and auditable SQL workflows.
  • Apply existing roles, permissions, isolation and governance controls to AI applications.

The workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Something for every role

These events offer value across the technology organization:

  • Developers can explore application development, AI integration, T-SQL, analytics and DevOps.
  • Administrators and data professionals can strengthen their SQL Server, Azure SQL, Fabric, Power BI, security and governance skills.
  • Architects and decision makers can evaluate modern data and AI approaches while learning how organizations can retain control of security, privacy and compliance.

Register early, bring questions and take advantage of the opportunity to learn directly from the SQL Product Group and our great data community.
