Connect with Microsoft Remotely at PyCon 2021!

Program Manager

PyCon 2021 is almost here, and we’re excited to support this incredible event once again! We’ve been connecting with the community at PyCon in person from 2017 to 2019, and then remotely in 2020. Even though we’re sad we still can’t meet you in person in 2021, with this remote edition we will have the opportunity to engage with folks from all over the world through the exciting activities we are bringing this year – and that keeps us going.

If you’re curious to learn more about what we are doing at PyCon and how you can connect with us, keep on reading below!

Virtual booth

In our virtual booth, we will be showing recorded demos featuring many of the products and services Microsoft offers for Python development. You will see Visual Studio Code and Notebooks, Postgres in the cloud, Azure Machine Learning, Azure SDKs and more!

We will also be live in our lounge demo booth showing some demos and answering any questions you may have.

Workshop: Deploying your Django application for scale with Microsoft Azure

You can also join us at our workshop so you can learn about scalable Django architecture and how Azure services like load balancing, sharded databases, and functions can be used to scale a Django application!

Talk: Restarting Pyjion, a general purpose JIT for Python – is it worth it?

On May 14th at 2pm Anthony Shaw will be talking about Pyjion, a JIT compiler for CPython bytecode. Make sure to stop by to learn more about the design ideas, optimizations and future potential of the project.

Talk: More Fun With Hardware and CircuitPython – IoT, Wearables, and more!

Join us and Nina Zakharenko on May 15th at 10:15am to watch this talk about programming hardware with Python, where she’ll go through real-world project demos to inspire and guide you towards the next step on your hardware journey.

Virtual Labs & Swag

Level up your Python game with our virtual labs and get some swag! We will also have stickers to be shipped worldwide for free, and limited swag available for attendees joining from specific locations, so make sure to stop by our virtual booth to talk to us!

Whether you are attending PyCon this year or not, we still hope to get a chance to connect with you through our Microsoft Python Discord. And make sure to check out all we have to offer at Microsoft for all your Python needs:
