MMS: SW09 Revised Title/Abstract

PowerShell Team

I hope to see some of you at MMS (Microsoft Management Summit) in San Diego next week. I’ll be giving a number of talks and will be around a lot so please come introduce yourself and say howdy.

I’m pleased to announce a change in the title and abstract for my SW09 talk on Thursday. Scott Hanselman is going to join me and show you some of the great stuff he has been doing with PowerShell at Corrillian.

SW09 Extending Windows PowerShell with Cmdlets/Managing a Production Web Service using PowerShell

Thursday, March 29 10:15 AM – 11:30 AM, Room 31A

Speaker(s): Scott Hanselman, Jeffrey Snover

Track(s): Windows Management Technology

Session Type(s): Breakout

Products(s): Windows PowerShell

PowerShell was designed to be extended.  You can extend using a number of techniques ranging from ad hoc scripts to systems development.  This session explores that range of techniques with an emphasis on Cmdlets.  We’ll explore the code and mechanics behind a simple cmdlet, explore the PowerShell Community Extensions (a shared-source community cmdlet Development effort), and then see how Scott Hanselman from Corrillian Corporation has extended Windows PowerShell to deploy and manage a production Web Service.
