Introducing: PowerShell Gallery

PowerShellGet is an exciting new feature releasing in WMF 5.0 Preview.  With it, you can easily discover, install, update, and publish PowerShell modules to and from online repositories – simplifying the process of sharing PowerShell content.

While we’ve talked about how to set up your own repository in the past, we haven’t said much about PowerShellGet’s default Gallery.  When you run Find-Module, you may have noticed that it automatically searches a “PSGallery” repository.  You may have wondered, “what exactly is this PSGallery repository?”

Today, we are pleased to formally announce the PowerShell Gallery Preview, located at https://www.powershellgallery.com/.  On the Gallery website, you can browse through the available modules available, and learn about PowerShellGet and the PowerShell Gallery on the Getting Started page.  Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments.

Publishing to this Gallery is limited to an invitation only audience during this preview period.

Thanks,

John Slack
