This week marks the first anniversary of Visual Studio 2005 and the Express editions. Almost a year ago to the day – 11/7/2005 to be precise – was the day we launched Visual Studio 2005. That also marked the debut of the free Express Editions that have since proven to be a huge hit in the developer community. We’ve had over 7 million downloads of the Express editions to date and over 1.8 million of them have been Visual Web Developer Express! After 30 days of usage, we ask you to register the product – we have nearly 1 million registered Express users today. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for the great support and feedback you have provided to help us build a better product for you.
As you know, we are currently on the next version of Visual Studio, code-named “Orcas”. A lot of you have already provided great feedback to date on what you’d like to see in the product and that is helping us shape the product. If you have further feedback, now is the time to do so. You can go to the Visual Studio feedback center to file your suggestion or bug.
Finally, if you haven’t checked out the free Visual Web Developer Express – the best tool for building ASP.NET 2.0 web applications – you can get it here today.
Thank you!
