Why o why, is Microsoft pushing preview versions of Cumulative Updates to mainstream end users that are not part of Insiders or whatever developer program. Search answers.microsoft.com and you’ll find dozens of questions about this, and nobody comes up with an explanation. Even though the average user has no idea what .NET is, this irritates them. With the monthly avalanche of new features that Microsoft rolls out to Windows and Office without even asking the user if he wants to enable them, the end-user already feels like laboratory rat shooting at a moving target.
If Microsoft still feels this type of updates is urgent for any user, stop calling them Preview. It will save me an hour on the phone each month.
