First public drill down of Application Insights at DevTeach Vancouver

For the folks going to the largest developer conference in Canada, DevTeach;  you are in for a real treat as you will be first people on the planet to see Application Insights in anger as the DevTeach organizers have graciously added a session for this exciting new topic.  Unfortunately due to a family emergency i won’t be able to come and present this session (or my Test Session) but that is not all bad news for the attendees, as Vlad Joanovic who has been working on Application Insights from day one has offered to step in deliver this first public drill down since the announcement and the 5 minute demo at the Visual Studio 2013 launch. I know Jean-Rene and Mario are finalizing the session agenda now and my last minute cancelation isn’t helping but the Application Insights session is currently scheduled for 1:30pm.  If you haven’t registered i don’t think it is too late –and they even have a way for you to go in for a lucky draw for a free registration!  Included below is the Application Insights session abstract and more informaton about Vlad.

First look at Application Insights for Visual Studio Online

As you may have seen at the Visual Studio 2013 launch Microsoft announced a brand new preview offering called “Application Insights”  This DevTeach session will be the FIRST public presentation dedicated to this this new offering!  With the move to Cloud as a key part of the development platform and faster release cadences, gaining actionable insight into your live site application is rapidly becoming a “must have” in the development and management of your applications. Looking to address that need, Applications insights is a new big bet for the developer division.  Regardless if you are in development or production, Application Insights delivers a set of services to provide in depth and actionable insight into your production application. The services include global availability and performance, customer usage and deep internal diagnostic information. All of this information is then surfaced in easy to customize dashboards, easy to use reports and in the case of threshold violations, alerts can be sent via a sophisticated notification engine.
