Hello,
When can we expect to get support for Azure DevOps Server to compile with VS 2026 project?
until now VS2026 is not supported in VSBuild / VSTest / MSTest tasks in Azure DevOps Server GA!
Hi Asaf. To clarify, Visual Studio 2026 is fully supported for developer workflows with Azure DevOps Server (e.g., Git and TFVC). The current gap is limited to pipeline task support (VSBuild, VSTest, MSTest).
We plan to address this with the next Azure DevOps Server release (not a patch).
Hi Asaf, we’re actively working on the next release and are planning to ship these updates in Q3 of this year. Please note that these timelines are tentative and subject to change.
… and in September the first RC of .Net 11 will arrive potentially only supported in Visual Studio 2027 which will then take about a year to add support for too?
Hi Gloridel,
Visual studio 2026 was released November 11, 2025 and you are planning to support that version almost a year later?
The support will be a patch for ADO Server (25H2) or a new release of azure Devops Server?
I second this request and also for Azure DevOps Server 2022.2 so we can get rid of our workarounds before upgrading to ADO 25H2
It seems like all code changes have been done in azure-pipelines-tasks aside from VSTestV2 which is needed as ADO 2022.2 does not support VSTestV3.
