Who Can Join?

This hackathon is open to anyone above the legal age of majority in their country of residence. Please note that specific countries and territories are excluded. Check the full rules for-eligibility details.

Event Details:

  • Deadline: June 17, 2024, at 8:00 PM EDT
  • Format: Online and public

How to Get Started:

  1. Create a Microsoft Learn Account: Ensure you use the same account throughout the developer journey.
  2. Register for the Azure Cosmos DB Developer Cloud Skills Challenge: This two-part challenge kicks off with Phase 1 now live, and Phase 2 begins on April 23rd.
  3. Follow the Developer Guides: Choose between Node.js and Python guides to build your AI copilot.

Learning and Building:

  • Phase 1: Learn how to build an AI application using Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB and the Azure OpenAI API. Delve into vector database technologies, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and more.
  • Phase 2: After completing your AI application, integrate it into a new or existing Azure project to compete for additional prizes.

Submission Requirements:

  • Phase 1: Complete the learning modules, and request access to the Azure OpenAI Service.
  • Phase 2 (Optional): Integrate your AI copilot into an Azure project. This phase is open to individuals, teams, and organizations.

Final Steps:

  • Submit Your Project: Provide your Microsoft Learn username(s), completion screenshots, and a screenshot of your AI copilot. For Phase 2, also submit a demonstration video and a detailed description of your AI app.
