We are excited to share the general availability of Azure App Service on Azure Government. App Service is a cloud platform which enables developers to build, deploy and run powerful web apps, mobile back-ends and API apps that connect to data anywhere in the cloud. It is an integrated solution which streamlines development and provides powerful DevOps capabilities while meeting your needs for security, reliability, and scalability.
Azure App Service provides developers with everything they need to build:
- Web and API Apps
Web and API Apps allow you to host any website, web app, or API app in the cloud. It supports a wide array of Web development frameworks including .NET, NodeJS, PHP, Python, and Java, and provides source code control integration with Visual Studio Team Services, GitHub, and more. When your apps are ready to go into production, stage your releases in a controlled manner with deployment slots, and easily scale out to meet demand with integrated auto-scaling.
- Mobile Apps
Mobile Apps provide developers with a full set of client and server SDKs for building engaging mobile apps on Windows, iOS, and Android. Easily integrate with popular identity providers, add secure corporate sign-on to your mobile apps, and create robust mobile apps with offline data synchronization.
Upcoming additions
At this time, there are a few App Service features that are not fully enabled in Azure Government. We will be lighting up these features in the future.
- Deployment options (continuous integration)
- MySQL in-app
- App Service editor
- VNET integration
