Change notifications extended for federated chats

Last month, we announced the change notification APIs for Microsoft Teams messages

Today, we’re excited to announce that change notifications for Microsoft Teams messages are now available for federated scenarios. Previously, these notifications were not fully available which impacted primarily DLP and compliance archiving partners.

Change notifications will be sent when conversations are across multiple federated tenants.

Compliance archiving partners can use the change notifications for archival and Data Loss Prevention partners can listen to their chat messages in real time.

Using Microsoft Graph subscriptions, federated users can subscribe to messages in 1:1 or group chats and meetings. They can hear new messages, replies, edits, reactions, and deletes. With @mention and specific text filters, they can receive notifications in chat matching the filtering criteria.

Tell us what you think! Connect with us on Microsoft Q&A if you have feedback or suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you.

 Happy coding!
