Visual Web Developer Starter Kits

Many of you are probably aware of Visual Web Developer/Visual Studio web site starter kits that are available online.  If you have not seen or used these yet, they are complete end-to-end working web site templates that you can either use a starting point for your project or as a learning aid to get more familiar with the capabilities of ASP.NET.

You can download these from here.  Once you download them, they will automatically show up in the Add New Web Site dialog in Visual Web Developer as shown below.  Feedback on the starter kits can be posted <A style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'" href="http://forums.asp.net/default.aspx?GroupID=2" mce_href="http://forums.asp.net/default.aspx?GroupID=2" >here.

Some of these starter kits have been written by the team and some are written by the community.  Here’s the current list of starter kits that are available for download.

Written by team members of WebTools and ASP.NET: Small Business Site (Newly available since Oct 2006!), Personal Web Site (Also ships in the box),  Club Web SiteTime Tracker Web SiteClassifieds Site Starter Kit

Community Supported: TheBeerHouse: CMS & E-commerce Starter Kit, Paypal eCommerce Web Site, DotNetNuke Portal Web Site,  Job Site Starter Site, Media Library Starter Kit

We encourage you to contribute your ideas for other starter kits you’d like to see as well as to write starter kits of your own.

Thank you!
