Hi, I’m Danny Chen, (2nd from the right, grey shirt, next to Pete). Like Pete, I’m also an SDET for Visual Web Developer. I’ve been at Microsoft for about 1 1/2 years. Prior to shipping Visual Studio 2005, I was on the QA team for ASP.NET. I really enjoy working with the extensibility features of Visual Studio and ASP.NET whether it’s creating custom controls, extending the built in providers, or working with the add-in model of Visual Studio.
I’m really looking forward to the next version of Visual Studio. We’re coming up with some really cool features that I can’t wait to use myself. Some of the new ideas that I’ve heard about that I’m hoping for are: a split view where you can see the rendering as well as the markup side-by-side. A CSS properties window where you can see all the styles being applied to a particular control. (note: none these ideas are finalized yet so they may not make it to the final product).
There is also a blog at: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/dotnet/author/webdevtools/ that posts regularly. You’ll also find me on the ASP.NET forums http://forums.asp.net/default.aspx where I’m a pretty active member. I encourage you to check it out, it’s really a great resource for web devs. I don’t know of many other products where the creators of the product are among the most active respondants to customer questions.
