Azure DevOps Server RC (26H2) Is Now Available

Senior Technical Program Manager

Today we’re releasing the release candidate (RC) of the next Azure DevOps Server release. It brings new features previously available in our hosted version, along with security and quality improvements. You can download Azure DevOps Server RC (26H2) today. A direct upgrade to Azure DevOps Server RC is supported from any version of Team Foundation Server, including Team Foundation Server 2015 and newer. Direct upgrade from this RC release to the eventual RTW will be supported. If you prefer to wait until RTW to upgrade your servers, trying out this RC on a test deployment is a great first step.

Note: Extended Support for Team Foundation Server 2017 ends on January 12, 2027. After this date, Team Foundation Server 2017 will no longer receive technical support. If you’re running Team Foundation Server 2017 or an earlier version, we strongly recommend upgrading to the latest Azure DevOps Server.

🚀 What’s New in Azure DevOps Server RC (26H2)

You can read more details about these and all the new features in the release notes.

✨ Try the RC today and let us know what you think! Share any feedback or questions via the Developer Community and stay tuned for more updates. As always, thank you for your partnership as we continue to evolve Azure DevOps Server.

The semantic version number seems strange to me. The last patch version (AzDo Server Patch 9, released Oct 13th) was 20.256.37721.1, now the RC 26H2 has version number 20.0.37715.1, which is lower. Can you explain?
