Visual Studio Marketplace hits a major milestone – 1 million page views and 250K unique users!

At Connect() we announced the *Public Preview *of Visual Studio Marketplace – the one place to discover and acquire extensions, integrations and subscriptions for the Visual Studio family of products.

On Jan 10th, in just about 52 days, we hit a major milestone – 1 million page views and 250K unique users !!   This has been made possible with active support of our partners and extension publishers that have contributed some very useful extensions to the marketplace.  With 54% returning users and 20% users coming from Non-windows Platform (Mac, Linux, Android, iOS), we’re also glad to be providing the kind of value to our users we’d always envisioned.

While we celebrate this milestone, we also continue to work tirelessly to make it even easier for users to discover and install extensions, organized into categories, both from the Marketplace portal and in-situ experiences from within the Visual Studio products. At the same time, we’re taking in all the feedback we can from our publishers to make the publishing experience seamless, snappy and fun. Our Kanban board is sprinkled with work items on adding Search, customer reviews and ratings and support for TFS extensions to the marketplace, among others.

Our community is expanding rapidly, with 740 publishers and 711 public extensions available in the marketplace today. Go, PowerShell and Debugger for Chrome are the most installed VS Code extensions whereas Code Search, Package Management and TFS Time Tracker are some of the top VSTS Extensions.

Stay tuned and check out the Visual Studio Marketplace today to discover and install, or build and showcase extensions. We look forward to hearing your feedback / uservoice as we continue to improve the Visual Studio Marketplace experience for users and publishers alike. Tell us what extensions you like, or even better, tweet them out with the #VSMarketplace hashtag to let everyone know!
