Release highlights: New releases

Welcome to the February release of the Azure SDK. We’ve updated the following libraries:

  • Azure Attestation for Java (version 1.0.0)
    • Initial stable release
  • Azure Container Registry for Python (version 1.0.0)
    • Initial stable release
  • Azure Core for Java (version 1.25.0)
    • Added new micro-interfaces (traits) for the shared functionalities of client builders to standardize the user experience of fluent APIs. Methods in client builders should now be more consistent between Java packages.
  • Azure Core and Azure IoT for Embedded C (version 1.3.0)
    • Initial stable release
  • Azure Digital Twins Definition Language Parser for JavaScript (version 1.0.0-beta.1)
    • Initial beta release
  • Azure Functions SignalR extension for .NET (version 1.7.0-beta.1)
  • C++ is now using vcpkg private registry for betas that are published after a stable release.

    • This beta release is for the package formally known as Schema Registry Avro Serializer.

Release supportability

  • Support of Python 2 ended on January 1, 2020. We encourage all developers to upgrade to Python 3 to avoid any issues and potential security vulnerabilities in your applications. The Python Software Foundation (PSF), provides a tool (2to3) to automatically migrate from Python 2 to Python 3 and a migration guide with more detailed information.
  • From November 2021 onward, JavaScript libraries dropped support for Node.js 10, which reached end of life in April 2021. The lowest Node.js version supported now is 12. For more information, see our support policy.
