The goal of this was for everyone to leave the event with a fully functioning mobile application, and that’s exactly what happened. I got the opportunity to help audience members out when they ran into issues building their app, which was fun because lending a hand to the passionate mobile community is one of the best things about my job.

New York City

Right after our event in Philadelphia, two other Xamarins and I drove straight to New York City so we could wake up and do it all again the next day. There was a wonderful turn out of over 60 developers there ready to learn about Xamarin.

The most memorable parts about the NYC event were the great guest presentations. James Quick spoke about Azure Mobile Services and Greg Shackles spoke about the importance of mobile testing. We also had an “Ask the Experts” panel during which all of the Xamarin experts in the room answered questions from the audience. Even I learned something new!

Jacksonville

Xamarin Dev Days in Jacksonville was an entertaining, light-hearted event with a phenomenal crowd of developers in attendance. The audience was a mixture of Xamarin MVPs, developers new to Xamarin, and experienced Xamarin developers. This small, close-knit audience with various skill levels made for a fun and engaging day in Jacksonville.

My favorite parts of this event were the awesome prize giveaway at the end and my Introduction to Xamarin.Forms presentation. It was great to see audience members so excited to win tech prizes, courtesy of Mark Radacz and one of the sponsors, TEKsystems. The audience was excited to hear about Xamarin.Forms and how they can use it for their mobile apps. I always love to see the community excited to learn about new Xamarin topics.

If it isn’t obvious by now, I personally think Xamarin Dev Days is awesome, but you don’t have to take my word word for it.
