If you want to continue using your favorite extensions in VS 2022 but aren\u2019t sure where they are, here\u2019s a list of popular ones and where you can find them, via the Marketplace, outside the Marketplace, or as an integrated VS feature!<\/p>\n<h3>Finding VS 2022 Extensions in the Extension Manager &amp; VS Marketplace<\/h3>\n<p>Don\u2019t want to worry about downloading an unsupported extension? Whether you\u2019re looking for your mainstays or want to explore new ones, here\u2019s a list of popular extensions and their download locations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/submain.com\/download\/ghostdoc\/beta\/\"><strong>GhostDoc<\/strong><\/a> (Currently in beta) \u2013 An extension that lets you generate XML comments and up-to-date documentation from your source code using customizable templates.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.incredibuild.com\/incredibuild-version-history\">IncrediBuild<\/a><\/strong> (version 9.6.0) \u2013 An extension that speeds up development from compilations to testing and release automation by turning every host into a super computer with hundreds, even thousands of cores.\u00a0 You can also install this extension in the VS Installer by selecting a C++ workload.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndepend.com\/whatsnew?_ga=2.264052428.1772042548.1635986662-2143538738.1635986662\">NDepend<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 A static analyzer extension that makes it easy to manage code quality on a large and complex .NET code base.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.postsharp.net\/post\/postsharp-6-10-preview.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+postsharp+%28PostSharp+Blog%29\">PostSharp<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 A pattern-aware extension that helps you write shorter, cleaner code by providing ready-made implementations of the most common .NET\/VB design patterns and a framework to automate your own patterns.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/resharper-support.jetbrains.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/4404930135570\">ReSharper<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013 A productivity tool that provides code navigation and refactoring enhancements, helps you find and fix errors, and gives you suggestions for writing quality code.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.wholetomato.com\/default.asp?W404#2435\">Visual Assist<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 A productivity tool that improves IDE features related to code navigation, refactoring, code generation, and coding assistance along with specific tooling for the Unreal Engine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>From Extensions to Integrated VS Features!<\/h3>\n<p>Bad news: some of your favorite VS 2019 extensions won&#8217;t be migrated to VS 2022.\u00a0 Good news: that\u2019s because some of your favorite VS 2019 extensions are now officially integrated in VS 2022!\u00a0 Here are some extensions that made the leap:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dotfuscator<\/strong> \u2013 Dotfuscator is a .NET Obfuscator and in-app protection extension that improves compliance and prevents attacks against your applications. Dotfuscator Community is <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/visualstudio\/ide\/dotfuscator\/install?view=vs-2019\">included in VS 2022 as an optional component that you can install<\/a>, and the Professional edition is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.preemptive.com\/dotfuscator\/pro\/userguide\/en\/index.html\">PreEmptive Protection\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>GitHub Extension for Visual Studio<\/strong> \u2013 Want to create and manage your GitHub repos in VS 2022? This extension has been deprecated because<a href=\"https:\/\/visualstudio.microsoft.com\/vs\/github\/\"> all its functionality is available in Visual Studio by default<\/a>!<\/li>\n<li><strong>.NET Compiler Platform SDK \u2013 <\/strong>The .NET Compiler Platform SDK lets you build analyzers and code fixes that help you find and correct coding mistakes. This can now be <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dotnet\/csharp\/roslyn-sdk\/#installation-instructions---visual-studio-installer\">installed as an optional component in VS 2022<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Still missing extensions? Share your feedback!<\/h3>\n<p>Visual Studio 2022 is still very new, so a lot of existing extensions are transitioning via newly-added VS 2022 support and new publishing locations.\u00a0 The Marketplace and pre-filtered Extension Manager still host most published VS 2022 extensions.
