This is doubly-exciting as this is <strong>the first public release of a version of Visual Studio powered by &#8220;Roslyn&#8221;<\/strong> by default. At BUILD we released the <a href=\"http:\/\/msdn.com\/roslyn\">&#8220;Roslyn&#8221; End User Preview<\/a> which extends Visual Studio 2013 by replacing some components with their &#8220;Roslyn&#8221; equivalents but this version of Visual Studio is built from the ground up <strong>on<\/strong> &#8220;Roslyn&#8221; <strong>with<\/strong> &#8220;Roslyn&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The Visual Studio &#8220;14&#8221; CTP includes new and improved language and IDE features for Visual Basic such as multiline strings and a full-fledged refactoring experience:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/vbteam\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/06\/6518.vbref_.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/vbteam\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/06\/6518.vbref_.png\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And Metadata-as-Source:<\/p>\n<p>(Invoke the Go to Definition command on a symbol not defined in your source project)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/vbteam\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/06\/1300.vbgtd_.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/vbteam\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/06\/1300.vbgtd_.png\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/vbteam\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/06\/4382.vbmas_.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/vbteam\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2014\/06\/4382.vbmas_.png\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These are just some of the small but powerful enhancements we&#8217;re building for VB developers and we&#8217;re far from done. But that&#8217;s no reason for you to wait.
