Interop Forms Toolkit v2.0

Yesterday, we released version 2.0 of the Interop Forms Toolkit, one of several Visual Basic Power Packs we have developed over the past year that help bridge the gap between Visual Basic 6 and Visual Basic 2005.

The Interop Forms Toolkit 2.0 allows developers to display .NET Forms and Controls from within a Visual Basic 6 application. The Interop Forms Toolkit 2.0 extends well beyond the 1.0 version we released in September of last year - developers can now include .NET UI code and functionality within existing Visual Basic 6 forms and in all kinds of Visual Basic 6 applications, including MDI applications.

The new release, which is fully supported by Microsoft, also includes more comprehensive documentation and simplifies deployment with a redistributable toolkit runtime. Visual Basic 2005 Power Packs are available for downloading for free from https://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/downloads and are designed to work with both Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio codename “Orcas”. Other Power Packs include:

· Microsoft PrintForm Component 1.0, which brings back the ability to easily print a Windows Form. Just lay out the Windows Form exactly as you want it and your users can print the form as a quick report.

· Microsoft Printer Compatibility Library 1.0, which allows projects that used the Printer and Printers Collection in Visual Basic 6.0 to be upgraded without having to re-write your printing logic.

Namaste!
