I would say, "Oh dark thirty"—except it is earlier than that. The Scripting Wife and I headed downstairs from our conference hotel for the ride to the convention center. I expected it would take longer than the 15-minute ride yesterday due to the fact that it is, well, Chicago on a Monday morning.

Actually, the ride, although longer, was not bad. Not bad at all. I also expected the first bus, which left at 6:30, would be rather empty. Again I was wrong. It was packed, so Teresa and I had to split up—not for good, just for the duration of the bus ride. It ended up being rather cool, because the guy I was sitting next to, from Lexington Kentucky, was a developer. He said he had not used Windows PowerShell very much, and I said, “Dude…”

For the next 30 minutes, we had a great conversation. I told him about a Windows PowerShell MVP that I know who is a developer and uses Windows PowerShell to prototype his applications. I told him about a another friend who uses Windows PowerShell to replace his Visual Studio prompt. And of course, I told him about Windows PowerShell MVP, Doug Finke, who wrote a book about Windows PowerShell for Developers. At the end, he was talking about heading to the Cincinnati PowerShell User Group. Sweet!

Last night at the Krewe party, the Scripting Wife and I had lots of time to talk to Windows PowerShell enthusiasts. I met one woman who we had talked to at the Scripting Guys booth several TechEd's ago in Atlanta (she drew Dr. Scripto). She said she went home and begin reading the Hey, Scripting Guy! Blog posts on a daily basis, and she has now replaced nearly all of her old VBScript scripts with Windows PowerShell. I look forward to talking to her again this week. We also had a chance to talk to Trevor Sullivan, Greg Shields, and Sam Sporle. By the way, here is a picture from the Krewe party—it was awesome.

This morning when we got to breakfast, and the place was packed. I mean packed. At 7:00 in the morning no less. Luckily we got up with Brian Wilhite and Jason Walker who will be helping at the booth today. Here is a picture of breakfast.

The Windows PowerShell booth opens at 11:30 this morning.
