Topics ranged from Python&#8217;s new type-hinting tools, Django and conda through to machine learning, supercomputing and metaprogramming. I spoke about Microsoft Azure, teaching attendees about core services like virtual machines and Azure Machine Learning, and also demonstrating some of the magical features that we have built on top of them, such as Project Oxford.<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_331\" aria-labelledby=\"figcaption_attachment_331\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/python\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/02\/PyCaribbean2016Dancers-1.jpg\" alt=\"Dancers at the first night&#039;s entertainment\" width=\"501\" height=\"293\" class=\"size-full wp-image-331\" \/><figcaption id=\"figcaption_attachment_331\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dancers at the first night&#8217;s entertainment<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>Besides the main conference, the organisers did a fantastic job of entertaining attendees. We were treated to social events each evening, which were a great opportunity to experience local food and culture (especially for those of us who couldn&#8217;t speak Spanish well).<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_301\" aria-labelledby=\"figcaption_attachment_301\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/python\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/02\/PyCaribbean2016Attendees-1.jpg\" alt=\"Attendees and speakers at PyCaribbean 2016\" width=\"717\" height=\"334\" class=\"size-full wp-image-301\" \/><figcaption id=\"figcaption_attachment_301\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Attendees and speakers at PyCaribbean 2016<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>It was very exciting to see the first PyCaribbean be such a success.
