Microsoft does an amazing job, but short of scouring the release notes or deploying to the new version and running a full test, it was very difficult to come up with a good impact assessment.<\/p>\n<p>The SQL team just released a new <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/datamigration\/2016\/10\/24\/database-experimentation-assistant-v1-0-preview\/\">Experimentation Assistant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>It will assist in evaluating a targeted version of SQL for a given workload.
