{"id":8851,"date":"2007-01-08T20:49:00","date_gmt":"2007-01-08T20:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/powershell\/2007\/01\/08\/windows-powershell-for-testers\/"},"modified":"2019-02-18T13:20:55","modified_gmt":"2019-02-18T20:20:55","slug":"windows-powershell-for-testers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/powershell\/windows-powershell-for-testers\/","title":{"rendered":"Windows PowerShell for Testers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>The PowerShell team is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leeholmes.com\/blog\/UnitTestingInPowerShellALinkParser.aspx\"><font color=\"#800080\">very&nbsp;much into&nbsp;unit testing<\/font><\/a> so,&nbsp;when&nbsp; I ran into <a href=\"http:\/\/testfirst.spaces.live.com\/blog\/\"><font color=\"#800080\">this blog by Adam Geras<\/font><\/a> today, I found it very interesting.&nbsp; All its entries are on using PowerShell for testing.&nbsp; I especially liked <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/testfirst.spaces.live.com\/blog\/cns!7E0657B7A0134A74!136.entry\">this entry on using PowerShell and Excel for data driven testing<\/a> because I always love it when you can leverage other products to make your life easier.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>I find Excel to be great for manipulating lots of data.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Being able to keep your data in a spreadsheet and still have access it from PowerShell is awesome.<span>&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>It seems Adam is also working <a href=\"http:\/\/www.codeplex.com\/psexpect\"><font color=\"#800080\">on a CodePlex project<\/font><\/a> aimed at using PowerShell for testing.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>When you have some free time, take a look.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Who knows?
