{"id":8201,"date":"2007-03-27T19:49:00","date_gmt":"2007-03-27T19:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/powershell\/2007\/03\/27\/announced-powershell-to-ship-in-windows-server-longhorn\/"},"modified":"2019-02-18T13:16:45","modified_gmt":"2019-02-18T20:16:45","slug":"announced-powershell-to-ship-in-windows-server-longhorn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/powershell\/announced-powershell-to-ship-in-windows-server-longhorn\/","title":{"rendered":"Announced:  PowerShell to Ship in Windows Server (Longhorn)!!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"3\"><span><\/span><\/font><font size=\"3\"><span>The rate of PowerShell adoption has been quite stunning.&nbsp; We&#8217;ve all been amazed by the momentum.&nbsp; Here are a few datapoints:<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"3\"><span>We have had&nbsp;well over <\/span><\/font><font size=\"3\"><span><strong>400,000<\/strong> downloads of Windows PowerShell since&nbsp;we released in November!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/font><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"3\"><span>We are up to eight books in the US, 2 more in Japan and at least 2 in the works for Germany. <\/span><\/font><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"3\"><span>We continue to have new partners developing new products based on PowerShell from Quest Software, \/n Software, PowerGadgets and Full Armor.<\/span><\/font><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><font size=\"3\"><span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"3\"><span>I&#8217;m here at the Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) in San Diego and the momentum is <strong>growing!<\/strong><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/span><\/font><span><font size=\"3\">Quest Software announced further development of two new free products that leverage PowerShell:<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Active Directory cmdlets (tools) for managing Active Directory and PowerGUI, a GUI based tool for working with PowerShell cmdlets and writing PowerShell scripts.&nbsp; They&#8217;ll be demoing these in my talk tomorrow.&nbsp; Find out more at PowerGUI.org and <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.questsoftware.com\/\"><font color=\"#0000ff\" size=\"3\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.quest.com\/\">www.quest.com<\/font><\/a><\/span><font size=\"3\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/font><\/a><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><font size=\"3\"><span>\/n software (<\/span><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsoftware.com\/\"><span><font color=\"#0000ff\">www.nsoftware.com<\/font><\/span><\/a><\/span><span>) announced PowerShell Remoting which provides a secure, remoting solution for Windows PowerShell based on SSH that provides interactive, object-based remoting and remoting to non-Windows devices and operating systems.
