{"id":17710,"date":"2007-05-22T13:48:30","date_gmt":"2007-05-22T21:48:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/powershell\/?p=17710"},"modified":"2019-05-16T13:52:35","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T21:52:35","slug":"ctrl-end-it-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/powershell\/ctrl-end-it-all\/","title":{"rendered":"Ctrl-End it All"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a great hint from one of our Windows PowerShell PMs. We all know that you can interrupt a command by typing Ctrl+C, but did you know that you can erase the end of a typed command line by pressing Ctrl+End, just like in Cmd.exe?<\/p>\n<p>The Ctrl+End sequence erases all characters at or after the cursor point on the command line.<\/p>\n<p>Try it.  <\/p>\n<p>Type a command, like:\n                        get-itemproperty HKLM:\\Software\\Microsoft\\PowerShell\\1\\ShellIds\\Microsoft.PowerShell<\/p>\n<p>            (Be sure to use tab-completion to save strokes!)<\/p>\n<p>Use the back arrow key  (\u00df) to place the cursor under the &#8220;S&#8221; in &#8220;ShellIds.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Press Ctrl+End.<\/p>\n<p>Now you have:\n                         get-itemproperty HKLM:\\Software\\Microsoft\\PowerShell\\1\\<\/p>\n<p>            so you can type another useful command, like:<\/p>\n<p>                        get-itemproperty HKLM:\\Software\\Microsoft\\PowerShell\\1\\PowerShellEngine<\/p>\n<p>Very handy.
