Now Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">A few days ago <a href=\"https:\/\/channel9.msdn.com\/Series\/MCP-Insider-Series-AMA-with-Jeffrey-Snover\/01#time=47m44s\">Jason Helmick asked Jeffery Snover<\/a> on the MCP Insider Series when we&rsquo;d see PowerShell in Visual Studio.&nbsp; That actually wasn&rsquo;t the first time the question had been asked.&nbsp; Well, here&rsquo;s the answer&hellip;&nbsp; Today at the <a href=\"http:\/\/powershell.org\/wp\/community-events\/summit\/powershell-summit-north-america-2015\/\">PowerShell Summit<\/a> North America 2015, <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/\">Andre Sayre<\/a>&nbsp;gave a demo of <a href=\"http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?LinkID=524301\">PowerShell Tools for Visual Studio<\/a>, an extension for Visual Studio that provides edit, run and debug capabilities for PowerShell scripts and modules in the Visual Studio IDE.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Over the past few months we (at Microsoft) have been working with <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/adamdriscoll\">Adam Driscoll<\/a>, a Microsoft MVP who started this extension back in 2013.&nbsp; Adam released it as open source on <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/adamdriscoll\/poshtools\">GitHub<\/a> and a few months ago Microsoft created a <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Microsoft\/poshtools\/\">fork<\/a> to join community and contribute to the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Here are some highlights:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Edit, run and debug PowerShell scripts locally and remotely using the Visual Studio debugger<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Create projects for PowerShell scripts and modules<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Leverage Visual Studio&rsquo;s locals, watch, call stack for your scripts and modules<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Use the PowerShell interactive REPL window to execute PowerShell scripts and commands right from Visual Studio<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Automated testing support using Pester<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">If you&rsquo;re ready to try it out go download it from the <a href=\"https:\/\/visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com\/c9eb3ba8-0c59-4944-9a62-6eee37294597\">Visual Studio Gallery<\/a> and let us know what you think.&nbsp;
