Nevermind that Google&#8217;s new &#8220;maps&#8221; have nothing beyond country boundaries. &#8220;Aww, look at Google, she&#8217;s so cute and adorable!&#8221;\n I&#8217;m sure the people at the existing online map services like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapquest.com\/\"> MapQuest<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.msn.com\/\"> MSN MapPoint<\/a> are sitting there like older siblings, wondering when exactly they turned into chopped liver. MSN MapPoint has <strong>actual maps<\/strong> of most of Europe, and MapQuest&#8217;s library of maps is <strong>larger still<\/strong>. (<a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/dwvfp\">Kathmandu<\/a> anyone?)  Both sites provide <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/mappoint\/msnmaps\/mws_linking.mspx\"> documentation<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapquest.com\/features\/main.adp?page=lf_maps\"> how to link directly to them<\/a>. Yet they don&#8217;t get drooled over.<\/p>\n<p> Somebody at MapQuest should take out a full page ad that goes something like this: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"m\">\n<p> Dear Google Maps, <\/p>\n<p> Welcome to the rest of the world! If you ever need driving directions, don&#8217;t hesitate to ask. <\/p>\n<p> Love ever,<br \/> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapquest.com\/\">MapQuest<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let&#8217;s see, Google Maps adds the world outside the United States, Canada and the UK, and people go ga-ga.
