The two properties are available at a very reasonable rate of only &pound;300. Per year. Although the National Trust does not promise a job, it points out that there are skill shortages in construction and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shetland-museum.org.uk\/collections\/textiles\/fair_isle_knitting.htm\"> knitting<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairisle.org.uk\/fairislecrafts\/index.htm\"> The knitting cooperative<\/a> apparently has more orders than it can fill. (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/templates\/story\/story.php?storyId=4866217\">You can listen to the entire story and find a link to the original advertisement on NPR&#8217;s web site<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p> (Alas, <a href=\"http:\/\/heritage.scotsman.com\/news.cfm?id=2084032005\"> the deadline for applications has passed<\/a>. That NPR story led to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesonline.co.uk\/article\/0,,2-1837094,00.html\"> an avalanche of interest from the United States<\/a>, mostly from knitters.) <\/p>\n<p> This story reminded me that my friend <a href=\"http:\/\/spaces.msn.com\/members\/thewendyhouse\/\"> Wendy<\/a> made money on the side in her younger days doing hand knitting.
