{"id":14553,"date":"2023-07-05T12:30:46","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T19:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/microsoft365dev\/?p=14553"},"modified":"2023-07-05T08:30:11","modified_gmt":"2023-07-05T15:30:11","slug":"pronouns-settings-path-and-scope-change-in-microsoft-graph","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/microsoft365dev\/pronouns-settings-path-and-scope-change-in-microsoft-graph\/","title":{"rendered":"Pronouns settings path and scope change in Microsoft Graph"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re announcing an upcoming breaking change for admins and developers using Microsoft Graph to control pronouns availability in a tenant.<\/p>\n<h2>About the breaking change<\/h2>\n<p>Using the Microsoft Graph API, a tenant admin can enable, disable, or get settings that manage pronouns in an organization, such as controlling the display within the organization of any pronouns users might have set up for themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, a tenant admin can use Microsoft Graph url <code>https:\/\/graph.microsoft.com\/beta\/organization\/{organizationId}\/settings\/pronouns<\/code>, which requires the <code>Organization.Read.All or Organization.ReadWrite.All<\/code> scope.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting July 2023<\/strong>, that will change to a new path <code>https:\/\/graph.microsoft.com\/beta\/admin\/people\/pronouns<\/code>, and the scope requirement also would change to <code>PeopleSettings.Read.All<\/code> and <code>PeopleSettings.ReadWrite.All<\/code>.<\/p>\n<h2>What you need to do to prepare<\/h2>\n<p>The following is the summary of the changes that will come to pronouns settings in Microsoft Graph:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The path would change from <code>https:\/\/graph.microsoft.com\/beta\/organization\/{organizationId}\/settings\/pronouns<\/code> to <code>https:\/\/graph.microsoft.com\/beta\/admin\/people\/pronouns<\/code><\/li>\n<li>The scope required for reading the pronoun settings would change from <code>\u201cOrganization.Read.All<\/code>\u201d to \u201c<code>PeopleSettings.Read.All<\/code>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The scope required for updating the pronouns settings would change from \u201c<code>Organization.ReadWrite.All<\/code>\u201d to \u201c<code>PeopleSettings.ReadWrite.All<\/code>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The requirement for Global Administrator role would stay the same.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that this change only affects Microsoft Graph API.
