F# Community Group of the Week: The Zurich F# Meetup Group

ur F# community group of the week is the Zurich F# Meetup Group!

Marc Sigrist is the current organizer, and the next meeting is on Thursday, Nov 29 at Herostrasse 9. If you're in Zurich, I'm sure Marc and the group would love to have you along

My name is Marc, I am the organizer of The Zurich FSharp Users Meetup Group.

Welcome! We meet a few times a year to discuss F# and functional programming, and to compare it to other languages, paradigms, and frameworks. Some of us use F# on their day job. Others are interested in it, but are currently using C#, Java, Scala, Haskell, or other OO/FP languages. Still others have a mostly academic interest in the "functional first" approach. Whatever your motivation is, you will meet fellow IT experts and hopefully have a good time talking shop and socializing.
With the release of Visual Studio 2010 (on April 12, 2010), F# became one of the standard Visual Studio languages. Shortly after that, the first meeting of our group took place. More than a year later, the group was converted to this meetup. We usually converse in German; however, if you prefer to speak English, we will switch to that.
Our next meeting takes place on Thu, Nov. 29, 2012.
Hope to see you soon. Cordial regards,
Marc
