{"id":7203,"date":"2007-02-21T11:26:00","date_gmt":"2007-02-21T11:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.msdn.microsoft.com\/visualstudioalm\/2007\/02\/21\/announcing-team-foundation-power-tools-v1-2\/"},"modified":"2019-02-14T17:52:27","modified_gmt":"2019-02-15T01:52:27","slug":"announcing-team-foundation-power-tools-v1-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/devops\/announcing-team-foundation-power-tools-v1-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcing Team Foundation Power Tools v1.2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Team Foundation Server is happy to announce the release of&nbsp; version 1.2 of Team Foundation Power Tools (formerly known as Power Toys).&nbsp; In this release we&rsquo;ve added 2 new command line tools for the developer and 3 non-command line tools.&nbsp;&nbsp; This version includes some bug fixes to previous Power Tools, support for Vista, and adds the following new functionality: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Workspace Command (tfpt.exe) <\/strong>&#8211; Use the <strong>workspace<\/strong> command for additional workspace operations not supported in the currently shipping Team Foundation Server command-line tool (<strong>tf.exe<\/strong>).<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Treeclean Command<\/strong> &#8211; Use the <strong>treeclean<\/strong> command to see and optionally delete files in the current directory and all subdirectories that are not under version control.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Process Template Editor<\/strong> &#8211; A tool that provides a user interface for authoring work item types and some of the associated process template components.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Check-in Policy Pack<\/strong> &#8211; A set of custom policies that address often expressed customer needs. For example, the <strong>Custom Path Policy<\/strong> allows you to filter the specific items upon which another policy acts.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Build Test Tools Task<\/strong> &#8211; An MSBuild task that allows you to run unit tests by specifying the DLLs&nbsp; or a file name pattern in the&nbsp;TfsBuild.proj file instead of using .vsmdi files to specify which tests to run.<span><span><span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoListParagraph\"><span><span>&middot;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span>Please note that the <strong>Process Template Editor<\/strong> has some additional pre-requisites.&nbsp;&nbsp;These pre-requisites&nbsp;are identified on the download page.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">You can locate the Team Foundation Power Tools V1.2 release <span><a title=\"http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/?linkid=5422499\" href=\"http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/?linkid=5422499\">here<\/a> <\/span>and you can get help on the forums for these tools <span><a title=\"http:\/\/forums.microsoft.com\/MSDN\/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=930&amp;SiteID=1\" href=\"http:\/\/forums.microsoft.com\/MSDN\/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=930&amp;SiteID=1\">here<\/a><\/span>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">After you install the power tools, you can find the help documentation for the commands,&nbsp;custom policies, and the build test tools task&nbsp;in &lt;<em>root<\/em>&gt;:Program FilesMicrosoft Team Foundation Server Power Tools. The help is included in a Word document titled &#8220;TeamFoundationPowertool.doc&#8221;.
