By consolidating\ncontent into a smaller topic set, we believe that you will more easily access\nthe information that supports you in accomplishing your tasks.&nbsp;In the area of defining and customizing the definitions of work item types, this initiative has represented a significant\nrework to the content that was previously published under the <strong>Work Item Type Schema\nReference<\/strong> topic node<strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;We have made the\nfollowing changes to this content area:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>Consolidated content so that\n     you can access the syntax structure and attribute definitions of all\n     elements that support&nbsp; specific\n     functional tasks &#8211; such as the definition of fields, workflow, and work\n     item forms.&nbsp; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>Kept and updated specific XML\n     element reference topics that warrant keeping, such as the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/library\/aa337627.aspx\">FIELD (Definition)<\/a>\n     and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/library\/aa337625.aspx\">Control<\/a> elements. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>Renamed and enhanced topics to include attribute definitions and examples.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>Eliminated all remaining\n     reference topics whose content had been consolidated, this included&nbsp;<span>many\nof the element definition and all of the<\/span>&nbsp;schema definition topics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Updated XML Element Reference Topics &nbsp;<\/h2>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/library\/aa337615.aspx\">Index to XML\n     Element Definitions for Types of Work Items<\/a> &#8211; Provides links to the syntax structure of\n     each XML element.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/library\/ms243932.aspx\">All WITD XML Elements\n     Reference<\/a> &#8211; Syntax for all root and parent elements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/library\/ms194953.aspx\">All FIELD XML Elements\n     Reference<\/a> &#8211; Syntax for all field definition elements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/library\/gg534715.aspx\">All WORKFLOW XML Elements\n     Reference<\/a> &#8211; Syntax for all workflow definition elements. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/msdn.microsoft.com\/library\/ms194963.aspx\">All FORM XML Elements\n     Reference<\/a> &#8211;
