I was recently asked to take part in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cda.ms\/1YW\">Learn Live<\/a> series of live streams to help people take their first steps in understanding why elasticity makes the cloud move. All of these sessions are based on <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/learn?WT.mc_id=devops-17593-jagord\">Microsoft Learn<\/a> modules that can provide you with the skills to start becoming a cloud pro. This time, we cover the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/cda.ms\/1YY\">Scale your cloud resources with elasticity<\/a>&#8221; Microsoft Learn module.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Learn Live - Use Elasticity to Scale Cloud Resources w\/ Carnegie Mellon University &amp; Microsoft Learn\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rsYPA6FvOEk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In this session, I am joined by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dwitrisha\">Dwitrisha Saha<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/studentambassadors.microsoft.com\/?WT.mc_id=devops-17593-jagord\">Microsoft Student Ambassador<\/a>, to dig deep into how to optimize your cloud service. We describe common load patterns and how these patterns drive the need to scale, they\u2019ll discuss strategies and considerations in scaling cloud applications, show the importance of load balancing and provide methods to achieve it. Finally, we also discuss the benefits of <a href=\"https:\/\/cda.ms\/1YT\">serverless computing<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cda.ms\/1YV\">serverless functions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cda.ms\/1YR\">Cloud elasticity<\/a> is the ability of your cloud service to continually reallocate and redistribute resources to adapt to changing demands. With <a href=\"https:\/\/cda.ms\/1YS\">proper automation and strategy<\/a>, you can increase your service\u2019s computing power to better support your development. With metrics, loadbalancers, autoscaling, and good strategy you can ensure greater reliability<\/p>\n<p>We were extremely lucky to have Senior Cloud Advocate and incredible artist, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nitya\">Nitya Narasimhan<\/a> to watch our session and &#8220;sketchnote&#8221; the ideas conveyed.
