This time we’ll focus on the Virtual Networks or VNETs in Azure.

Azure Virtual Network (VNet) is the fundamental building block for your private network in Azure. VNet enables many types of Azure resources, such as Azure Virtual Machines (VM), to securely communicate with each other, the internet, and on-premises networks. VNet is similar to a traditional network that you’d operate in your own data center, but brings with it additional benefits of Azure’s infrastructure such as scale, availability, and isolation.

Using VNETs allows you to design and manage your networks without having to actually configure physical devices. Use VNETs to create hybrid networks with your existing on-prem/datacenter solution with your Azure workloads.

To help me along, I’ve asked Abel Wang, another of the Azure Advocates, to join me in solving three problems:

How can I create a new VNET for my application?

How do we create separate subnets for our networks?

How do we configure an additional virtual network interface with our new VNET IP range?

AzureFunBytes! – Byte-sized content with a live Twitch show!

AzureFunBytes!

Learn about Azure fundamentals with me!
