After the above date, customers may have degraded experience when using Internet Explorer 11 and the legacy version of Microsoft Edge. While we understand that this change may be difficult, customers will benefit from using the new Microsoft Edge which follows the Modern Policy. To begin, we recommend that customers first read this detailed article about how to plan for Microsoft Edge deployment. The article guides customers through key questions and offers a path forward for major steps in the transition to the new Microsoft Edge.

Customers have been using Internet Explorer 11 since 2013 when the online environment was much less sophisticated than the landscape today. Since then, open web standards and newer browsers such as the new Microsoft Edge have enabled better, more innovative online experiences. We believe that Azure DevOps Services customers will be well served with this change through more secure and faster web access.

For customers using Internet Explorer 11 to access Azure DevOps Services, or using the legacy version of Microsoft Edge, support options are available to help transition to the new Microsoft Edge. Customers with Microsoft Unified Support can reach out to that support service for help transitioning to the new Microsoft Edge. For customers who prefer to get started on their own, self-guided deployment and configuration materials, including a series from Microsoft Mechanics, are available on Docs.

Although Azure DevOps Services will no longer support Internet Explorer 11, we want to be clear that Microsoft will continue to support Internet Explorer 11 and that our customers’ own legacy Internet Explorer 11 apps and investments will continue to work.
